Looks like CEXYZ/2 does YModem/G... so I'll start recommending people to use that if their term program supports it.

cool that CEXYZ supports it... if it works for the users, that's great... if not, there are others they can use... that's what i like about having all the protocols... some work in some situations and others do in other situations... i don't think there is "one size fits all" but zmodem comes the closest in my book ;)

ZModme is still superior, unless there are implementation flaws that make YModem/G work better in your case. I'd do some testing before making that reccomendation. ZModem had the advantage that it *WILL* transfer the file eventually even if IACs are not escaped properly... YModem/G will abort the transfer rather than keep working at it.

Another neat thing about CEXYZ is that it supports ZedZap. Now if I could find
a terminal program that supports it (only one I've ever seen that does is BinkleyTerm's internal dumb terminal)... it's actually a real screamer over telnet (I've tried it once). 8K blocks at a time is pretty fast. :)

rz/sz from Omen also supports 8k blocks... does ZedZap have any other enhanced features?

btw, I cuold add 8k blocks to whatever you're emailing me too.

Not that I know of-it's been years since I used it. It is part of BinkleyTerm's internal protocol set. For all I know, it may have been based off of rz/sz. :)
