It is up to each individual sysop whether to carry, or not to carry,
the fidonews echo on his/her system. The same goes for any other echo, not just the fidonews echo.
There are many BBSes throughout the world which carry the fidonews
echo. BBS listings can easily be found by doing a search on the
web. Most of those BBSes allow participants to read and write in
that echo, paying no heed any pretender(s) to the throne.
If you are having a problem reading and writing in the fidonews
echo from docsplace, use a different BBS. Problem solved.

As far as I know the person who banned you is still banning you,
and
none of his echoes (as listed in the current echolist) are linked here,
or pass through here. Not worth the hassle, as Fido slowly passes into history.
Don't worry as I won't post to that echo from your BBS, nor

There was a time when I was a "true believer" in Fido, as it was much better (IMO) than Usenet & the like, but the various blog sites &
blog software (such as Thingamablog) make it easy for anyone to set up their own special interest blogs, or post on those that match their interests. phpbbs does a good job of allowing lots of topics like echomail, and under local admin control, without the need to deal with Fido's "elf lords".
There are still a number of quality individuals posting in an ever diminishing number of echos.
The idea of FidoNet is still good, but ease of setup & access to the web-based alternatives has made it largely irrelevant, much like CB
Radio, which was big here about 40 years ago.
Mobiles pretty well killed that off. Even I have one or two, but
don't remember the number :)

Hey and Lee, I just ordered my new motherboard this morning for
3 day UPS delivery.
An internet google search for problems related to this board came
up returning a mere 201 links and most of those caught were the result
of "no problems."
Check out the stats AM3/AM2+/AM2 up to DDR2 1066 or even DDR3
Max processor 140 watt multicore.
I'm going with an AMD dual core 64 5200 Brisbane and two
sticks of DDR2 Crucial SDRAM memory 1024 800 to start off
3 USB2 with cable and six more headers on the M.B.
2xPCI/2xPCIe1/2xPCIe16 slots
1xATA IDE master - slave
6xSATA II
So I'm moving from a 1998 IBM 32 bit Aptiva with 450 MHz Pentium II Deshutes WC>alpha
to a 2.7 GHz AMD dual core 64 bit!
A pretty fair jump in performance I can expect no? ;-)

If it is in stock. If not, well, you might have to wait a tad longer.
Had that problem a few years ago. Ordered a guitar. Company said it
was in stock, and would arrive within a few days. The "few days"
turned out to be much longer than that, and I wound up making a deal to get a better guitar at the same price rather than waiting for the one I had originally ordered. And then I gave the guitar away to a friend
who had joined the Army.
