• Public FTP server at filegate.net Port Change

From Janis Kracht@1:261/38 to All on Monday, November 16, 2009 12:46:44
    Hi Folks,

I had to make some changes to the way I had ftp set up here with BBBS's ftp server. The new port is 60721 at filegate.net. This works with the ftp clients I've tried.

It's not working with my browser right now however, but for that you can use http as you'd expect to :)

    ftp: filegate.net:60721
    Username: anonymous
    password: your email address

    Take care,
    Janis

Works with mc, which is what I'm usually using...

The usual way; add the port number to the end of the domain name... I usually just type in the following at the command prompt in mc: cd ftp://filegate.net:60721

You can also use the "FTP Link" menu item in the "Left" or "Right" panel menu, using the domainname:portnumber (filegate.net:60721) format.

super, then its just janis that need to make port 60721 into the conntracker so
it will open up needed reverse ports for ftp, but i sure some have told janis number of times non standard ftp ports is a problem if contracker is not handle
this port as ftp port :=)

super, i know this format, but i had not got it to work when i first tryed it

ftp ftp://filegate.net:60721/ unknown host, hmm, but it works with cd in mc
