• Request for Network Messages

From Patch@21:1/101 to All on Tuesday, April 02, 2024 10:02:49
    Hello everyone, it's me again.

As I had some issues running my BBS on the Raspberry Pi along with my Pi-Hole DNS service for my home lap, it seems that the SD Cards wear out a lot quicker and I have to figure our ways to put the BBS back online.

I've moved it onto a Debian VM, and have (finally figured out, ahem) installed WWIV, which was the original software that I ran back in the 90's.

With the Mystic version I had access to MysticNet and HobbyNet, I'd like to have some help with rejoining both of those, and if possible back into WWIVnet as well.

The quickest way for me to respond, please email me at patch@r2lotw.com. Also the BBS connection information is lotw.mywire.org:2323

Hope to hear something soon, and get the message network happening. Looking forward to rebuilding from the original bbs software.

Moving your BBS to another machine doesnt mean you are no longer a part of those networks. You just configure the new instance to connect to the same hub to collect mail/files.

    Absolutely agree with you.

I don't have that information, and if there was an updated doc that detailed the steps to do it, I'd do it. =)

When I initially joined FsxNet, Avon connected to my system and set it up for me while I was at work, so didn't really have too much of a hand in doing it the first time.
