You can press alt-s and it will give you a list of possibilities.
In that menu you can also change the language.
Normally it will get that right ... but you can change it, if it got
it wrong. (naturally only makes sense if you have configured more than
one language)
Thank you, however when I hit alt-s it brings up the send and change attribute dialog box?

Sorry to keep troubling you with this,
ok I can get the spell check to start with ^s
then it lets me select language,
but then nothing, it changes the mis-spelled words back to
white but no correction or no offer or suggestions of correct
spelling..?

I see now this:
if you select one word, it will replace what you have written with
that word.
