I would like to buy a good used 2-meter mobile/base unit. Something
small, simple and that works. I'm not sure who sells good used
equipment. Any ideas or suggestions?

storage space in the garage. I know I've got an Icom IC45a (UHF) out RW>there and may have an IC47a (UHF) and an IC27a (VHF) too. Maybe you can offer a suggestion as to what's up w/ the IC47a
I've got. I picked it up at a 'fest sometime back w/ the owner
and service manuals and don't see anything and if not for it
having the speech synthesizer installed I'd never known.
For ex. I manually tune VFO A to 444.460 and VFO B to the same freq.
When I hit the speech button VFO A comes out as 444.468 and B as
444.460. Tune them to 444.4650 and A is 444.463 and B 444.465.
I can't tell what might've been changed and if it's a programming
trick I'd rather not clear it out until I know how to do it myself.
Fwiw, the rigs here are a Hallicrafters SX-99 w/ the original
metal hallicrafters marke tubes and a R-46B speaker, a Hammarlund
HQ-170 w/ the timer/clock.
Modern rigs are a HTX-202 (2m), TH-25AT (2m), yaesu FT-212RH (2m
mobile), the IC-47A, and a RCI-2950 (10m mobile)
Can't find a lick of info abt the 212 for some reason other than
the mars/cap and a full unlock mod. <sigh> :/

that Yaesu uses FT on you mobile rig and my walkie talkie; FT-708r..
10 meter rig here, besides the TS-520, is an HR-2510.

Yep, little cover on the top. Has the reset w/ a dip switch array.
I can see where having a 0, 3, 5, 8 step would be handy (sat's in particular) but I'd still like to figure out how they did it.

Used to have the 2900 but after the 'puter blew I traded it in
thru RCI's upgrade program. Had I known I'd gotten the 2970 instead.
My only gripe is I like the front panel the 2900 had over the
2950/70. The 2900 had a led display w/ a *real* swr/pwr/sig meter
where as the 2950/70 has a single big lcd. :/

Tnx. What I'd like to do is find out how to reset the xmit back to
the ham band but at the same time unlock the rcv to the 130-173
range. It was last used by a CAP guy and still has that mod in place.
