Do you know how to insert a Ctrl-A code aka “^A” in Midnight Commander in Linux? I’ve tried different ways and nothing works for me. Thanks.

Type '^V^A'. That is, Ctrl+V and then Ctrl+A.

as noted in one of the dove-net areas, this depends on which editor you are using with midnight commander... if you are using mcedit, you use CTRL-Q...

    eg: CTRL-Q CTRL-A

will put the actual ^A character into the file... you'll see it as ^A but it will be a different color and will act as one character...

if you are using another editor like vi, vim, emacs, joe or similar, they will have their own method if they allow for such characters to be manually entered...
