• MBSE Installation

From Flavio Bessa@4:801/188 to All on Sunday, March 05, 2017 23:39:11
    Hello,

I finally made it through the installation after downloading the latest
version from Github, but now I am stuck with the " make install" command.

If I run it as root, it says that it should be ran as user "mbse"
If I run it as mbse, it says that it should be ran as user "root"

    What should I do?

    uname -a

    :)

    The uname -a output says:

    Linux ubuntu 4.8.0.40-generic #43-Ubuntu SMP Thu Feb 23 16:01:19 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I think that it did detect the operating system, because the scripts responsible for creating the mbse and bbs users ran correctly... the issue now is running the "make install"...

You have to make sure you are not using sudo to become root.
It has to be a proper su to root. ie: you need to set a root
password and allow root to login.

Once that was done I've never had a problem with make install
    on ubuntu.

Follow on for a later msg - If you cannot use su due to set up limitations try using sudo su

I managed to fix the "su -" part, but now it's complaining that the MBSE_ROOT environment variable is not set.

Have you checking in your init script files before compiling.
