• LORD 5 JS Issues...

From Martin Kazmaier@1:340/1101 to All on Tuesday, November 05, 2024 13:55:00
For some reason, when entering the game (I've reset it a couple of times and this perists) now, a character must always be created, but with a name that hasn't been used. If you try to use a name you've already created, it gives
a message that the game has already heard of that user. Is this known? I thought I saw that CodeFenix had a newer version, but I'm not sure if it's compatible with JSDOOR. I'm using the command:

    jsdoor.exe lord.js -d c:\ele\node%1\door.sys -s %2

With %1 being the node number and %2 being the socket. The variables are
    being passed properly.

I've seen LORD 5 do crazy things before. I don't recall that specifically.

Whenever it does something I can't figure out, best thing to do in my opinion is start fresh. Since you said you tried resetting already, just delete the files in the lord folder and start over with new files from the ZIP.

I thought I saw that CodeFenix had a newer version, but I'm not
sure if it's compatible with JSDOOR.

I'm using the version from the Synchronet project on Gitlab. It's most likely the same version you have. I do use it with JSDOOR over on my Mystic board.

You tried deleting the player.bin and state.bin files?

I see splayer.bin and sstate.bin after resetting. I'm not sure if the player.bin and state.bin were automatically deleted by doing that. I've started using the latest version from github and will see if that works
better. It's several months newer than what I was using.
